LVG: ‘Luke Shaw, Best Left Full-Back at United’

Posted by

While announcing the news that Luke Shaw would be receiving a medical re-evaluation on Friday the 25th Van Gaal called the 20 year-old the best left full-back on United.

Shaw’s leg was broken from Hector Moreno’s challenge before he hit the ground.

According to the Manchester United website Van Gaal said,

“Luke Shaw is a very important player,” he continued. “I said in advance that he would be the revelation of this season. Last season was his adaptation season, and he was on his way to doing that.”

Shaw is becoming frustrated with rehab.

“I have Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo and Ashley Young, so I think I can manage that position, but it is still a loss because, in my opinion, he is the best left full-back at Manchester United.”

Shaw broke Rooney’s record for United’s most expensive teenager transfer fee when he signed on to the club for approximately 30 million pounds in 2014. Shaw was only 19 at the time.

Louis Van Gaal revealed further that Shaw is not handling the advanced stages of recovery well, which isn’t inconceivable for the young player who has never dealt with an injury of this magnitude before.

“It is going very good with him but it’s also difficult for him because now the progress is not as much as in the beginning,” the Reds boss said.

“Now, sometimes, he is fed up with the situation and I can imagine that.”

While his fellow teammates and coaches are hoping for good news on Friday there is no telling how long it will take Shaw to find his form again after recovering.

Here’s hoping that Shaw makes a full recovery.
