Amongst talks of his decline, a Ballon d’Or nomination, and a 4-0 El Clasico embarrassment, it turns out Cristiano Ronaldo may be losing his primary endorsement contract by 2016.
The new digital diary of Mexico, El Economista reported on Friday that Nike is preparing to transition the spotlight of their global ad campaigns from Cristiano Ronaldo to Neymar Jr.
Slated to take place in June of 2016, El Economista claims that Nike has waited for Neymar to develop before making him the front-runner of their ad campaigns.
The wait may have been smart. Neymar has been colossal in 2015 scoring a storm of 14 goals in 12 matches during Messi’s absence from league play.
Nike is looking to put Neymar forward as the world’s footballer before the 2016 World Cup in Rio De Janeiro, an impeccably timed move which may see the footballer restore Brazil to glory.
