Suarez Ban Sticks

Despite a second appeal to the Spanish Administrative Tribunal for Sport Luis Suarez did not receive a lighter sentence for his role in a tunnel brawl following an Espanyol match.

Referee Juan Martinez Munuera reported that after Barcelona beat rivals Espanyol 4-1 in a rough fought match to close the first leg of the Copa del Rey Suarez stood waiting in the tunnel waiting to taunt and harass Espanyol players.

Coaches and security had to separate the players, and Suarez’s name was recorded.

The Uruguayan isn’t new to controversy, but with both appeals rejected it means that Suarez will sit out of against Athletic Bilbao on the 20th to complete his ban sentence.
