Jurgen Klopp has been a lightning rod of energy and enthusiasm since stepping in to take over for Brendan Rodgers at Anfield.
Coming off an unbelievable 95th minute 5-4 victory against Norwich City the Liverpool manager wants the team to use that spark to carry on through their Cup semi-final match.
The manager spoke fondly of his new home in an article on Liverpool’s website,
“I have had a few matches at Anfield now and, to be honest, I can’t get enough of it. It’s a great thing to do, one of the best I’ve ever done.”
“We want to pay back. If the atmosphere is great, of course, you know that each player will want to pay back. It’s a natural thing and if all the people want to help us then they are really invited to.”
Klopp has certainly shown his merit in the EPL helping Liverpool to slide into 7th place on the table with only 5 losses in the last 16 match-ups. Fans can expect more of Klopp’s upfront style of football for the cup semi-final:
“It’s a semi-final and you can’t go or should not go to the final with an average performance. You should always try to do your best, that’s for the players and supporters.
“You should always be open for a special performance and I’m open, to be honest. And, as I said, I’m really looking forward to it.”
The air around Anfield is sure to be electric with anticipation, and we’re certain that the fans and players are looking forward to it too.
