Nobody ever starts a review out by saying he or she (or they) are biased, but let me just say I AM BIASED.
I love the color green. I’ve loved it forever. Most of the other kids wanted blue shoes, or red socks, but not me, green please! and the green-er the better. I dyed my hair green once for halloween, and ended up getting some green dye on the interior of my mom’s car– but that’s a different story.
The point I’m trying to make is that if you love green– you’ve waited a long time, and I mean a looooong time for a cleat to release in a real, undeniable, wide-eyed, slack-jawed, slap-your-grandma green that you love:
A shade that isn’t a neon eye-burn yellow trying to pass as green, or dark murky swamp water, but a real green, a green so green you look at it and know it can’t be described as anything other than, ‘hella super definite green, no questions’.
Puma has decided that it was time to reveal that exact shade of green in 2017, bringing the newest evoPOWER Vigor 1 FG cleats to see the light of day:
There’s a ton of new features on the Puma evoPOWER Vigor 1 FG, and I’ll be covering them, really, but GUYS THE GREEN, THE GREEN GUYS.
Alright you’re green-ed out, I get it. Here’s the tec-specs you’ve got to look into when it comes to these cleats:
Optimized for kicking velocity and accuracy the Puma evoPOWER Vigor 1 firm-ground cleats combine a newly updated elastane sock and one-way stretchable Adaplite upper material paired with a G.S.F. (Gradual Stability Frame) outsole allow your foot to bend exactly the way it would if you were kicking barefoot. This means your most accurate strikes are likely to feel like your most natural, enabling optimum power delivery to the ball.
Another significant upgrade comes in the form of AccuFoam 3D dots on both the inside and outside– why? On the inside the dots provide a secure snug fit for your foot, while on the outside they add texture to your touch, giving you just the edge of grip you need to beat the keeper. Even GripTex, a long-standing Puma technology was upgraded into a new print for enhanced ball control.
One of the last features you’ll notice is the combination outsole. Featuring bladed and canonical studs to provide the optimal mix between stability and agility, the studs are designed to enhance your maneuverability and power. Combined with the gradual stability frame technology, this is one of most highly developed outsoles in Puma history.
The new Puma Vigor 1 FG are guaranteed to satisfy brand enthusiasts, and if this is your first time considering a Puma cleat, we couldn’t think of a better model to jump in on (except maybe the Puma Kings when they first released, but you’d need a time machine for that).
